Civilly married!

Finally, after some ups and starts, Atsushi and I are civilly married already!

To get officially married, we had to submit the following to Minami Ward (the Ward office closest to where Atsushi is staying now):

  1. Atsushi’s Koseki Tohon
  2. my CNO
  3. my Birth Certificate
  4. photocopies of the pages of my passport
  5. application form which includes hanko and details of our two witnesses who should be 20 years old and above. We had Atsushi’s batchmates as our witnesses.

I look forward to our Church wedding; a wedding that would be very special.

We also had a couple of achievements yesterday:

1. got our CNO from the Philippine embassy which of course  is one of the requirements for our civil marriage.

2. we finally selected, ordered and paid for our wedding rings!!! Oh how lovely were they! Too bad I wasn’t able to take a picture of them as I ran out of cp batteries already. Both Atsushi’s and my ring are platinum with mine encrusted with five diamonds. Can’t wait till we pick them up come January 18, 2011!!

Count thy blessings yes. And I thank you Lord. And oh yes, I hope to post soon my great experience with Atsushi’s family last weekend.

  1. hi! i stumbled upon your post about mokume gane rings.. i’ve been researching about them too i just wanna know where you got yours and kamusta sha in actual… they look nice in photos kase. how much did it cost you? mokumeganeya store sent me a quotation and it was way too expensive.. also another question if you don’t mind… have you seen a sakura diamond engagement ring?if yes, do you think it’s worth the price? my bf and i are planning to go to japan march 2011 🙂

      the Mokumeganeya branch we had an appointment with was in Motomachi, Yokohama. They were beautiful up close. Although honestly, it was only the mokume gane rings of Mokumeganeya that I fell in love with. I find the mokume gane of others real scary because of the black patterns. But after talking with the jeweller, it was because of the silver metal added in the alloy. Yeah, the base price was already quite expensive. But ours was even more expensive because I didn’t want the silver added in and I want pink gold and platinum thrown in plus the diamond. It cost us 550k yen. haha! So we had to rethink. Later, I fell in love with another ring. We bought that instead. 🙂

      sorry though, I didn’t see their sakura engagement ring since we were focused on wedding bands at the time.

  2. oh yes please do post an article on the other ring. i’m curious. can you post a photo too? 🙂 looks like mokume gane rings aren’t for budget conscious couples like us. 🙂

    • yeah, it’s not for budget conscious couples. 🙂
      we ordered Lazare Diamond instead. Had an appointment at the Motomachi, Yokohama branch. We ordered last September. It’s still at the jeweller’s at the moment. Friends already tease me minimina pa ang bato para ilagay sa ring. 😀
