December 2020

Ever since we bought our Christmas tree and its ornaments for our second Christmas on our new home back in 2015, we’ve pretty much used the same decors from then.

Thought of starting a tradition of buying something special and pretty every year.

For this year, we had these pretties.

A bold Elsa, with her water horse. Loving her stance.

Somehow, she reminds me to be bold and keep on the fight.

This pretty, pretty star.

Looking at this always puts a smile on my face. 🙂

A blessed Christmas to one and all!

Oh, The Places You’ll Go! 小学校1年入学式

As preps for your grade school life, we’ve been to your school three times before today’s 入学式 /Entrance Ceremony. And I must admit all those three visits have been less than ideal; what with many issues to resolve and many confusing things to sort out.

But today, today was very nice. Beautiful weather. We weren’t late. We weren’t confused. Everything was orderly. Everything went really nice. There were things we didn’t know, they were a lot. But we sorted them out with beaming faces and hopeful hearts.

And I pray the same for you as you start your journey in your school life. I pray you have passion, a generous and brave heart and soul. God bless you, our dear one. Congratulations!

Oh, the Places You’ll Go! Life with a primary schooler

We haven’t had your entrance ceremony to elementary school yet. But today is your first day with your after-school school. And since we selected a hopefully-good school that could nurture your abilities and talents and expand your horizon, I thought it fitting to have our yearly tradition albeit with the book’s cover, not its first page.

We pray we did select you a good school.

Do great, our little big one.

things to be thankful for today

  • Friends and family who made me feel very special and who are generous to share their time and blessings
  • I’m working on a ve~~~ery challenging task
  • Our Client now, with whom I’ve worked with five years back, openly told me he was very happy to see my name among those in the top of the TO
  • The one year old baby I’ve been trying to get chummy with seems to have already warmed up to me. When I arrived at daycare and after Yui hugged me & pressed her cheeks against mine, little boy toddled towards me and (to my big surprise) also pressed his cheek against mine. I made him laugh too.
  • The author of a Japanese-English book I once wrote a month ago finally replied to my email and acknowledged that my comment was right. 😍

Hatsuhinode 2019

Welcome beautiful 2019!!

I usually do the countdown and the cleaning thereafter. So never, in my entire life, have I tried to catch the first sunrise of the year.

Hence I was surprised with the well of emotions I felt, seeing the beautiful orange rays of the sun shining through dark, ominous clouds. Suffice to say I was moved to tears.

Thank you, Lord, for this beauty and for this new year!

PS

Didn’t have any difficulty waking Yui up and from making her walk for thirty minutes so early in the morning. She was so excited! Grateful for this beautiful start of the year, and with good friends at that too!
