hot pads anyone?

We feel it’s unusually warmer than it usually is at this time of the year. Nevertheless it’s bound to be pretty cold in the next few months. And even now, we’re already using カイロ (kairo) or what I simply call hot pads, preferring to use it than turning the AC on. It’s pretty helpful when you’re out in the cold, the whole day as well. But it’s not advised to go to sleep with it.

It can heat up to 64degC, with average temp of 51degC and can last up to 9 hours, perfect for a day out.

Just peel the side with the sticker on and stick it on one of your inner layers, definitely not to be in direct contact with your skin. It’s not fashionable looking hence it’s meant to be under your coat and jackets 🙂

I find it pretty helpful as well during bouts of dysmenorrhea. Buy now. Available in Matsumoto Kiyoshi, Tomods and other similar shops.

Puerto Princesa and the 7 wonders of the world

Hurray! Puerto Princesa Underground River made it to the top seven list of the New Seven Wonders of Nature!

It’s not yet final and official though as it will be made official come early 2012. The results were based on the preliminary tally held yesterday, of course, 11.11.11.

Visit here to see the rest of the seven wonders as well as the other 28 finalists.

We’ve been to Coron and El Nido islands, both in Palawan and hence neighboring islands of Puerto Princesa, both beautiful in their own rights. We’ve been to Halong Bay in Vietnam as well, listed as one of the seven wonders together with Puerto Princesa. But we are yet to see the underground river. Hope we could get to visit Puerto Princesa in our next vacation in the Philippines. Can’t wait!!

Nissin Cup Noodle gohan

The company that first introduced instant ramen to the whole world has a new variant in their line. And it’s not noodles this time. For fried rice lovers, this one is a welcome and convenient treat indeed.

It’s so easy to prepare.

Just pour water up to the level indication,

Pour the contents of the packets inside, heat it up for 5.5 minutes in the microwave and voila, you now have instant food!

The actual contents actually just make up around 1/3 of the box but you’d be surprised at how filling it is. Information says one can have 379 kcal from it.

As would be expected, the taste is really good albeit I’d still prefer Hubs’ fried rice over it. 🙂

Sold at ¥258, it is about ¥100 yen pricier than it’s noodles siblings but still, a great alternative, for people on the go.

Longchamp 4×4

I’ve reached the point that i refuse to watch nor read any horror movie/story. The image would really be only retained on my head and torment me for weeks. Hence I’d rather avoid the torture.

Hubby wanted to watch “Exorcist” so much the other week that he offered a bribe, a win-win solution: he’ll buy me a bag if I accompany him. He wanted to watch so much he is willing to buy what I fell for at that time – a Longchamp new arrival that costs 60,000yen.

But of course I had to decline, for two reasons: I feel guilty for taking advantage and I know that the 60k bag would not really free me from the torment the exorcist movie would cause me for weeks. It’s just not worth it.

Fell for this one earlier though, Longchamp 4×4. I have this partiality with hobo bags, all my favorite bags ever were all hobo types. It’s currently sold at 47,000+ yen. I’ll check tomorrow if there’s another horror movie on this weekend. 🙂

paperbag cover

The sky has been overcast since noon and looks like it’s about to rain now that it’s late afternoon. And so, just like any other shop here in Japan, the saleslady wrapped my paperbag with a plastic cover so that my paperbag and my purchase, which would then be wet from the open end of the paperbag if ever, would be protected from getting wet. Really quite thoughtful isn’t it?

And yes, I finally found chocolate colored high-heeled boots (the specs for this month-long hunt) for this winter that fit my feet and legs. Yey!
