Atsushi and I decided to surprise our guests with a short performance during reception; him on guitar, me on vocals. We can only hope they were pleasantly surprised. š

I can`t believe it`s only been 8 days after our wedding. It`s been a flurry of activities since then and that there were many other exciting things to attend toĀ that hubby and I can only get snippets of time to reflect on how our day went. Good thing though that we were able to meet some of our friends and also with Erika & EJ hence we somehow learned Ā (and had good laughs besides)Ā a lot of other stories that evolved during the wedding. Ā Seeing pictures posted by friends makes me all hoity-toity. It warms me up and makes me giggle whenever I hear (or read from emails and texts) comments and praises on how beautiful and successful our wedding has been. This despite the terrible migraine I had just right after the ceremony and from then onwards. It was so terrible I threw up twice, before and after the reception. When Kat told me she was surprised with this since it wasn`t obvious at all I had the migraine when we had our grand entrance during the reception, I relaxed. At least, my migraine really didn`t ruin our day.
Will try to keep our wedsite updated about the wedding stories in the soonest possible time. For now though, we have to commence cleaning up/organizing our house for the upcoming housewarming and Atsushi`s advance birthday party that we`re throwing next weekend for some of our friends/ex-colleagues.
Was browsing Youtube for the links of our song picks for our SDE and cinematic highlights when I decided to browse the video for the Flash Mob wedding I chanced upon months ago.
Wasn’t prepared with the intense emotions that washed over me. Well, probably my getting emotional has got a lot to do with friends (even part of the entourage) cancelling in the last minute due to unavoidable circumstances and also with friends who are very kind enough to fill in even at late notice; but the moment I saw the groom tenderly kiss the bride BEFORE they walked their makeshift aisle in this flash mob wedding, there was just no stopping the tears.
This flash mob wedding was so amazing in that they would never have pulled it off without the help of their friends and family. This is so true with every weddings.
But then the most remarkable in this wedding is that even when it was really just a VERY short wedding, the love between the groom and bride was most evident, and I think that part touched me the most. See how the groom tried to warm up his bride’s arm – everybody were wearing their coats whilst the bride has to wear a tube (her dress is lovely by the way).
And of course it comes in threes. What I loved as well in this flash mob weddingĀ are the rabbi’s words that rings with wisdom.
Who can then blame me for being emotional? š
And oh! All weddings should come with good music. Albeit short, the flash wedding has got good singers. Love it.
We’ve been married for six months now, and living together for 2.5 weeks in our apato. In exactly 38 days, we’ll have our Church wedding. Although it’s becoming quite a trend lately (and it’s also quite the norm here in Japan), still, I find that it’s quite unconventional, living together and prepping up your new home and at the same time preparing for your wedding. But I ain’t complaining. In fact, I love the novelty of it.
I miss my work, terribly. But I love keeping home and arranging home as well. I love cooking for Atsushi, although it’s just in the evenings. I am ashamed to admit that I still amĀ asleep when Atsushi goes out to work.
But I love how he wakes me up to kiss and hug me goodbye and wish meĀ a good day, as I in turn wish him the same thing. And I love how he allows me to go back to sleep. And I love how he puts the blanket back on me, in the middle of the night. Those, and other things besides.
There are a lot of adjustments to be made, that’s for sure, especially since we both have different nationalities; grew up in different cultures and backgrounds. But considering all the good things we have and are experiencing, getting married is indeed the best decision I ever made.
And of course, this comes with a prayer: That I hope we continue to be the loving couple that we are now, even after 50 years.
Haha, call it fate, but Journey’s “Faithfully” is playing in Accuradio as I wrote this blog.
Yep, Atsushi, i’m forever yours, faithfully and i’m sure you’re mine as well. And I can’t wait for us to finally make our vows this time, in the Church.
As what Hubbie posted previously, we’re now together, and we’re so thankful for it. Now I just have to secure my reentry visa and hope there’ll be no hitches so I’ll be able to return to Manila to do the last minute preps for our wedding. Both Japan Embassy in Manila and Japan Foreign Affairs here already assured us there’ll be no hitches but still, I want to be on the safe side… šĀ
Will try to post next time all the documentations involved with myĀ migration and hope it’ll be of help to those who are also processing their papers. And I have to make time as well in making a feedback (and I have to find that feedback paper as well for their contact details!) to CFO’s PRISM. The way they handled and have handled Japanese spouses deserve setting aside some time to give my feedback.Ā Please do expect a 2 page letter or so from me. When..uhm…until I have everything settled here.
Now, on to happy things. Hubbie welcomed me with one of my favorite things. Now, already 5 days after, they’re still as beautiful and fresh-looking as on the first day. Atsushi really did treat me like a pricess on my birthday. š

We’re trying to get our home organized and styled and it sureĀ can be quite overwhelming!! But I am having a good time so I sure am not complaining. My most notable changes so far are the kitchen area along with the counter area and the bathroom sink (two places in the house thatĀ I am most particular with along with the toilet of courseĀ – they should be clean always, as much as possible!). Tidy frog can help me do the job.
Yesterday, I went to Maita Ward Office for my alien card registration. Walked from Gumyoji to Maita to try explore the place. Came along a furniture shop and finally found the dining table that I’ve been looking for. Eureka moment, yes! It’s wooden and it has chairs that has a slim,Ā elongated back, which would help us exude the effect of having a bigger place than it really is. The wood color is quite dark but the chair upholstery is white so it’s just perfect. We can also have a light-colored table runner to, again, help us in bringing the effect of a bigger place. It’s quite interesting that the store people used a malong (traditional in Mindanao) as a table runner. It’s a sign?? hehe. It’s quite expensive though! And so of course, I asked for a discount – me in my broken Japanese (or more like one Japanese word at a time) and the store clerk in pure Japanese. We somehow understood each other though. He said that if I buy the one on display (it is in very good condition actually) and not have a new one made, we can have 30k yen discount (we can already buy two cabinets with that discount!). They’re open on saturdays so I can bring Hubbie along this weekend and hope he’ll like it as well so we can have a dining table already.
It’s just funny though, my audacity to do some haggling even when I only know a smattering of Japanese words. haha. Well, bringing along a calculator, or using your cellphone’s calculator is the only secret actually. All store owners, in any language probably, knows the english word “discount” š
The washing machine-dryer takes 6 hours to finish though, using the automatic mode. Totally not electricity efficient and not environment-friendly. Have to experiment using the washer only and try hanging the clothes outside. I worry about environment yo…
Erika set the end of February as the latest that we should submit our designs for our wedding favors. Friday, Feb 25 rolled by and I still have no design at hand. I sure am in a fix. Hence, Anna’s (nutatafish) post in W@W saying she can do cartoons for some co-w@wies was really an answered prayer.
An answered prayer that’s soĀ pretty and creative and very much in line with our theme thatĀ I can’t stop feeling hoity-toity when I look at it. There was some crazy point during the weekend wherein Hubbie and I can’t agree yet where to use it in that Anna made a couple other designs so that we won’t have any difficulty matchingĀ the cartoons on wherever we plan toĀ use itĀ on our other wedding details.
Anna barely knew me. But she has been most generous with sharing her talent and design inputs. Anna, thank you so much! You’ll be blessed even more. š Thankful for W@W as well for being the venue of such love sharing. š
