Wishlist: Airplane escort cards

NB by Wifey, Dec 1: I was wrong after all! Hubbie knows how to play airplane origami! yey!

When I saw this on a wedding magazine, I just can’t get my mind off it. My wedding coordinators (Detalye) are gonna provide our escort cards and although I haven’t contacted Erika about this yet, I know it’s a tall order so I really wouldn’t strongly request that they provide us this.

But origami-crafting are really not among the talents that Hubbie and I have hence, I may have to add this on my (insane and seemingly impossible) wishlist being – lovely to behold, but too impractical to obtain.

I’m on a blogroll today, yes. But since I’ve already found centerpieces that I like, I might as well blog them up for my future reference. Bookmarking it now and rummaging through all bookmarked sites later would entail lots of work hence posting them up now would be the better option (after all, that’s what wedding sites are for, right? although we want this site to not just be our wedding site but our site from wedding preps and BEYOND! hehe).

Again, all these were from Martha Stewart weddings site.

I would love to have each folded napkin be with a flower. For that romantic touch.

I so love this calamansi stand for our table name! The calamansi’s color bears our wedding pallette as well hence it’s just perfect for us.

And..I would love to have ripe apricot place cards. However since we don’t have one here in the Philippines (or it may be insanely expensive) or that importing it from Japan would have us dealing with customs and taxes, we may have to forego this. Green apple and orange would do the job though. ^_^

When Macy (of K by Cunanan Catering) asked me what were my preferences for the table centerpiece, it was then that I realized I absolutely have no idea what my preference is. Of course there’s such a thing as trusting our suppliers – and K by Cunanan is one supplier that can be wholly trusted. However, I think K by Cunanan would appreciate it as well if they knew what arrangements I like so that then, they can work around my preference. And because of that, I love them even more so.

I have just started with researching for wedding centerpiece ideas and i’m sure there’d be lots more that I’d like later on. To start with though, I searched Martha Stewart (US) weddings ideas. And with this first step, I realized I’m leaning towards minimalist elegance.

I imagine the wood centerpiece above would have to be surrounded by small flower arrangements like any of the ones below, all ready for the guests to take home with them AFTER the program (READ: AFTER the program). The flowers should be in our wedding colors of course. And yes, don’t forget the candles, also in our wedding colors.

But oh yes, I do find succulents with flowers very lovely as well. The succulents can be the green part of our wedding color and the flowers would have to be different shades of orange.

Of course, I checked out K by Cunanan’s site and these were among my favorites albeit I like all of their arrangements.

Wearing a Kimono, the first time

When I went to Kyoto and then later to Osaka with my friends, we mulled on donning on kimonos and walk around the old town wearing our kimonos and of course take lots of pictures of us in kimonos. But what stopped us from renting is that these kimonos-for-rent comes with an exorbitant price, some at 50,000yen for a couple hours or so. Hence, in the last 9 years that I came and went in Japan, I never really had the chance to wear a kimono.

But it was a good thing I didn’t take on the chances I had previously. Because a chance presented itself to me when I visited Hubbie’s hometown, and this time, my “first time” was made even more special – i’d be wearing Okasan’s kimono, which she wore when she was almost about my age. Heirloom, ne? hehe.

"let's try it out shall we?"

tada!

The dressing up is actually for our family portrait. Will post the official pictures once they’re out.

Anyways, I’m thankful to Otosan for having captured this tender moment that passed between me and Hubbie.

yiihii ^_^. Admit it again Hubbie, you were so in love with me that day, ne? =D

And of course, I am very thankful to Otosan, Okasan, Obachan, Ojichan and Mayumi for making my stay in Takamatsu a wonderful one. Of course, it goes to say I’m truly thankful to Hubbie as well. =)

Malunggay Whole Wheat Pandesal

Every now and then, I’d like to experiment; try out some new product. When I saw Pan-A-Cup’s Malunggay Whole Wheat Pandesal, I was instantly intrigued with how it would taste. And I’m glad I was curious enough to buy it. It’s got a curious taste to it, probably owing to the malunggay bits. Yet the malunggay taste fused with the whole wheat verging-on-sweet dough creating a delectable tasting pandesal.

It’s perfect as it is even when eaten as is. But it’s good to match with SPAM as well for breakfast. And if in case you need to heat up the pandesal and you don’t have a microwave oven at home, you can heat it up on a pan brushed with olive oil. I did it. It was just uber yummy that I had to buy another pack the following day. haha.

Nutritional Information of powdered dried malunggay (moringa) leaves as seen on Pan-A-Cup’s packaging:

  • 10 times the Vitamin A of carrots
  • 1/2 the Vitamin C of oranges
  • 17 times the Calcium of milk
  • 15 times the Potassium of banana
  • 25 times the Iron of spinach

dreaming of my gown

If all goes as planned, my gown fitting’s supposed to be within the next couple of weeks. I must have been real apprehensive about my gown already in that I dreamt about it last night.

In that dream, my couturier, Richie Ortega Torres came up to me and told me that my gown will have to have a foam on the torso part. I clarified if she meant the boobs part. But she reiterated that no, it’s all of the torso part. I chose the gown A design wherein the creeping lace applique will be the one holding the back of the gown so, as Richie explained, the foam is required to hold the gown up. And then she showed me the dress where she incorporated our wedding colors even when it shouldn’t have any colors in it. Worse was that the shades were all off and ugly. The dream ended with us looking for swatches bearing the right shade of our wedding colors.

In retrospect, I think it was more of a nightmare than a dream. brrrr.
