a messy bath

Ever since Yui turned 2 months, when she was already too heavy for me to singlehandedly hold her in her baby tub yet still too small for those bath chairs, we had her have a bath with her Dad. We have a system going. Daddy takes a shower, goes into the tub and holds Yui while Mommy soaps and rinses the baby. Because of the cold months, we dress Yui’s first layer in the bathroom before I whisk her off to the bedroom to continue dressing Yui up. We had this system going smoothly since then.

Now, one thing I’m really happy and proud of is that Yui poops almost like clockwork. And because I know the very day she will poop, I just watch out for her soon-to-poop facial expression. The moment I see it, I put her down, ease her out from her diaper, raise her legs and then she does her thing. Not messy at all. She sometimes even “sing” while she does her thing. The only time before that she had a messy episode was when we were about to go out to see her paediatrician. Suffice it to say we were late for that appointment.

Today was supposedly Yui’s poop day but we were out for most of the day so she didn’t have her moment. Bath time came and we were happily cooing to Yui about the day’s happenings.

And then she stretched her lips; that about-to-poop expression.

Our eyes got big as we thought of the possibility. And in that split second that we hesitated and was about to coax Yui to wait, she let out what she had been holding on for the whole day.

Hubs gave me Yui and got out the tub like he has been scalded. Problem was that we were in the midst of soaping Yui. Oh the chaos and panic that ensued thereafter. And the cleaning up that had to be done after. Thankfully Yui slept right after we dressed her up so we had the time to clean.

The excitement and cleaning after certainly made us very tired later on. But we also had a good laugh after everything got settled and got cleaned.

Life with a growing baby. It gets exciting by the day! 😀

Kafunsho / pollen allergy

Hubs said the news mentions how a one year equivalent of pollens were released in just a week. No wonder all my nasal sprays and tablets doesn’t work anymore. And my nasal discharge is dripping like tears. Itchy and terribly teary eyes.

So now I’m queueing for a CO2 nasal laser surgery. I’m scared if truth be told. But you gotta do what you gotta do. Goodluck to me!!

This is how bad this year’s pollen allergy outbreak is. The unusually long queue at the allergy clinic.

thank you

Turned a year “wiser” (hopefully!) today. There is much to be thankful for. There were heartaches in the past year, yes. But it’s part of life and of growing up. Definitely there’s lots of blessings to be thankful for. The baby in my arms just before she slept and a bear hug from hubs before turning in for the night – great way to cap a birthday.

Happy. Contented. Blessed. Thankful. And excited too! 🙂

Thank you Lord. 🙂

Yui’s first passport photo experience

A Babyology post shared about their experience in taking a baby’s passport photo and advised about blocking out the whole afternoon to make sure you get a decent baby passport photo. Having the need to have Yui’s passport photo taken, I readied myself for this.

I also readied myself just in case Yui sports this kind of look as well – which got really quite popular since late last week, gathering millions of views and hundreds of comments in just a few days.

I needn’t worry really. Moirraine nailed it in just less than a minute! Good job honey!

The photo fee is a bit expensive than usual though. Usually, you can have 6 copies for only 600yen. Yui’s was 1050yen for only two copies. Nevertheless, we’re happy for the ease with which we had the photo taken. 🙂

we’re moving our blog

I have wanted this for the loooongest time. Ever since we started this blog. But we were just so busy back then. Not than I’m less busy now. In fact, I’m much more busier now. But I figure, if we won’t do this now, it’d even be harder to do it later, after going back to work. So we’re doing this now.

We’re finally moving on. And have our own self-hosted blog. Not really to monetize (though it certainly will be a plus when and if we’d get good traffic in the future). But mainly, just because. Well, one is that we want our own theme that’s particularly ours. And also since I spend a lot of my time blogging, it’d be great to have it on a place that is really designed as our own.

So we’re moving on.

This blog started with this header. Photo taken by Russell Olaguer during our early autumn prenup back in September 2010. (Hubs really look so cool here! ^_^)

A month after our wedding, we changed it to one taken by our official wedding photographer Dino Lara.

When our daughter was born, of course our chocolate hill journey is now with her.

Right now, our new blog site is still a newborn, minutes old.

In a while, i’d be exporting/importing files and the new site would have content. But work is just getting started.

So excited for the new, exciting things to come! 🙂

And with this I pray for an overflowing cup on this new endeavor. 🙂
