Yesterday, today, tomorrow

When I got home yesterday, our glass vase already had an identical twin vase and was holding this delicately twirled bamboo (and some more flowers that we couldn’t identify).

Hubs also bought some rattan holders.

They sure are so pretty to behold they practically make us bubbly.

My nasal allergies got worse again today. Oh please leave me now allergies as I’ve got a big day tomorrow. It’ll be my first day at work after almost 8 and half months!!

Early to bed now.

Blooms!

Hubs went out to buy minced lean chicken and pork and pumpkin, all for Yui’s dinner. He went home bringing more – strawberries (and condensed milk too!) and flowers and new plants! Now the dining area looks like this.

The petite lavender dahlias now occupy the mini basket Hubs gave me for valentines this year (the ivy and begonia didn’t survive). It’s my first to see red carnations too!

Ahhh. Thankful for Hubs’ hobby. 🙂

Margaret and poinsettia

One of our bosses in our current project invited some of us for dinner at his home last weekend. Since Hubs was busy with work, he had to decline and I had to go alone. The party was a blast; we thoroughly enjoyed the night. When I got back to the house at around midnight though, I saw Hubby had a very enjoyable evening as well. He had a very enjoyable time re-potting our plants that has outgrown their original pots.

And he bought a Margaret (the one with white flowers on the right) simply because the name Marjorie was derived from the name Margaret. Sweet. 🙂

He also bought this happy,Christmassy-looking poinsettia.

The other night, he trimmed big buddy (the first photo) and got a few loose leaves. He tied them with our leftover twines from the wedding and immersed them on water on our Marlowe glass. I just LOVE the arrangement! It looked like a flower to me.

Hubby is definitely the artist AND the green-thumb in our household. 🙂

Supplier review: Flowers of May

We already had Vatel Manila for my bridal bouquet and entourage flowers. But we still need a florist to prettify Caleruega some more.

I inquired on some other florists but, creative as they are, we just can’t afford them anymore as we’ve already splurged in a lot of stuff and we were already running out of budget.

Then I came across Flowers of May.

Liza was really nice to talk to. The packages they offer doesn’t include the red carpet but she agreed with my request to include it in our package in exchange for the flower arch at the entrance. She also was very nice in accepting my very risky requirement: to use only certain kinds of flowers that I’ve chosen for their symbology and that if she’s gonna use one that isn’t on my list, to check if it has a good meaning. This requirement is VERY RISKY as I run the danger of limiting the creativity of the florist as well as not having certain beautiful flowers on our wedding because of their not so nice symbology. But good vibes is what I really want hence with every difficult request to our florists, I also pray that they receive it positively and without much complaint. And Liza certainly didn’t complain.

What also made the deal just perfect was that the quotation Liza gave me was just right within the total cost we had budgeted for our flowers, for both entourage and Church. With Liza being very accommodating, I followed my instincts. We had Flowers of May for our wedding.

And certainly, I wasn’t disappointed.

I was nice to see these gerberas as I walked down the aisle.

Happy colors!

The altar was so abundant with flowers, our sponsor candles seemed like they were set in a garden.

Thank you so much Liza!! 🙂

Of fairs and flowers

On fairs.

On flowers.
Up to now, I still don’t know who’s responsible in keeping our office toilet attractive because of them flower arrangements which varies every other day or so. And the flowers come in different vases at that. Or probably they switch the vases they use in the other floors. Today’s flower arrangement can even pass as a centerpiece in a wedding reception. Simple yet elegant and eye-catching.

On great news.
Was pretty busy but I had to hurry home to wait for my passport to be delivered. Was in tenterhooks while waiting for it; praying as I wait that my passport already contains the visa we’ve been hoping for. And. It was an answered prayer. Thankful.
