World, we’ll get through this. Coronavirus will soon be a thing of the past. We’ll get though this.

life with a grade schooler: black hole
Yui: Mommy, do you know how the universe began?
Me: The Big Bang?
Yui: That’s right!
Me: so tell me what you’ve read so far in your new books. Have you read yet about the dark hole?
The moment the last two words came out of my mouth, I felt queasy as I know something wasn’t quite right and that I know they weren’t correct.
Yui: Dark hole? Dark hole? It’s the Black hole, right?!?
Haha. And so we had our first bout of laughter for the day. I wouldn’t have had imagined I’d talk about the black hole with my 7 year old; and have her correct me for that matter.
Yui’s artwork: Nausicaā
You’ve been raving about Nausicaā recently. And I’m glad of your choice as she’s one great heroine. Of course you tried to draw her. You ended making your own stories about her.
Yui’s artwork: Pokemon
How confident you were to make some sketches using a ball pen.
life with a grade schooler: on time travel and Beethoven
During dinner, I told you about the movie I watched on U-Next while you were napping: About Time (2013). Told you it was about a man who can travel back in time.
you: (eyes wide) he can travel to the future?!
me: no. But he can travel back to the past.
you: ooohhh! Did he travel back to see Beethoven play? I would want to travel back to hear Beethoven in person!
Dear young lady, when I was your age, I didn’t have any idea who Beethoven was, not have I even heard of him. You are remarkable.
Hatsuhinode 2020
We thought we won’t be seeing the sunrise this morning. Sunrise was supposed to be at 6:50, but it was still gray clouds and already daybreak at 5 past 7. A lot of people actually already left. Disappointed.
And then suddenly the horizon was golden. I am so glad I stayed.
Beautiful. I couldn’t catch with my camera how the whole sun shone on us for a few seconds. And may those few moments of the golden sunrise keep the glow in us the whole year through.
